Saffron Sands – erotic author interview

It is lovely to include on my site the talents of so many erotic writers and combine the pleasure of working with them as they collaborate on some of my films. Saffron Sands is one of those erotic writers who kindly wrote PLAYTHING that accompanies the film of the same title PLAYTHING. Below you can read her interview and discover what encourages her thoughts to write such gorgeous erotica.

What are you currently working on?

I recently wrapped up a project with several other authors for an anthology of taboo titles. With that up and running, I am taking a break from the short erotic stories and focusing on a Victorian romance title under the pen name, Bella Carter.

Bella’s stories are something I have been meaning to focus on for some time, but I tend to get caught up in all the fun of the explicit erotica versus the romantic.

When and where do you prefer to write?

I try to write whenever time allows, but I am slow to start and easily distracted so I tend to get more done late at night.

I usually write at home. I have a desk in my living room littered with Post-It notes covered in scribbles with random titles and ideas which of course feature lots of naughty words. My husband is always amused at my last minute frantic rush to pull the risqué notes down when we get company.

Is your erotic writing a hobby or a business?

Writing is my business and I love every minute of it. I’m truly lucky to be a writer in this day and age. Having the power to write what I want, when I want, and make money while doing so is the best job I could ever have.

The fantasies within your stories are they yours? Do you prefer to write from experience or enjoy the escapism of your own created fantasy?

There is a little bit of both in my stories.

Given a night of guilt free pleasure who would you most like to spend it with and why?

Mmm…I have a major crush on action film star Jason Statham. I won’t lie either, it is purely sexual.

In your opinion, who do you think is the kinkier sex?

Once upon a time I would have said men. But now I would have to say women are kinkier. With the internet and easy anonymous access of sexy websites, women have become more exposed to erotica and appear to be more comfortable with their sexuality. With light BDSM themes becoming main-stream, I would like to think that women are discovering what they like or at least what they would like to try in the bedroom.
